AI Chess Engine & Analytics

A C++ chess engine with bitboard move generation, negamax alpha-beta search and a UCI loop, plus a hand-written AArch64 NEON popcount used in evaluation. A Python pipeline tunes piece-square weights from 300 self-play games, and perft(4) matches the known 197,281 nodes from the start position.

Overview

Install

cd "01-ai-chess-engine"
./build.sh

Produces build/engine (UCI binary), build/perft_test (correctness self-check), and build/bench_popcount (asm vs. builtin benchmark). No CMake: build.sh just runs clang/clang++ directly.
