GitHub Issue & PR Summarizer Agent
A Python CLI fetches the issues and pull requests updated since its last run, summarizes each one with Groq or Gemini, and suggests a label. It runs with zero API keys through a keyword fallback, and it stays in dry-run mode until you pass --post to comment and label on GitHub.
Overview
Install
- Install the dependencies.
pip install -r requirements.txt
- Run the smoke test. It needs no API keys.
python test_summarizer.py
- Summarize the issues and PRs from the last 24 hours.
python main.py anthropics/claude-code --since-hours 24
- To post comments and labels, add
--post. This needs aGITHUB_TOKENwith write access.
python main.py your-org/your-repo --post
Set GITHUB_TOKEN for higher rate limits / write access, and GROQ_API_KEY
or GEMINI_API_KEY for LLM-written summaries instead of the keyword fallback.
